As stated on our home page, we believe that every child has within them
the capacity to improve, and we are committed to helping each of our
patients to succeed - and achieve their potential. We believe that the
most effective approach for success is one that stresses early
intervention, open communication & family involvement, and a fun,
playful environment where children are relaxed and more receptive.
Early Intervention
We believe that early intervention is very important to the success of a
child. We work hard to educate parents, physicians, and other agencies
of the importance of early intervention.
Open Communication & Family Involvement
Our therapists take a collaborative approach, working with the family,
physicians, and other specialists to meet our patients’ needs. At the
end of every session, our therapists meet with the parent/caregiver to
discuss the progress of their child and to provide suggestions on what
can be done at home to aide in the child’s progress. We also
communicate regularly with each patient’s physician, providing
evaluations, progress reports, and status updates. These communications
often result in one-on-one discussions between the physician and the
therapist to not only discuss the patient’s progress but also to help
educate the physician on what to look out for in other cases.
Fun, Playful Environment
We have found that when children receive therapy in a fun and relaxing
environment, they are able to progress much more rapidly and with
greater success compared to more traditional settings. By creating a fun
and inviting atmosphere, our patients are more relaxed and ready to
work. In this environment, therapists often get down on the floor on
both knees and play with the children, finding creative and innovative
ways to provide treatment. The result is a very successful model, and
one that often results in the patient not realizing that he or she is in
therapy.
