Every
day, there are children who have or develop health or
developmental conditions that significantly affect their ability
to manage their daily lives. With the help of occupational
therapy, many of these individuals can achieve or regain a higher
level of independence. When skill and strength cannot be developed
or improved, occupational therapy offers creative solutions and
alternatives for carrying out daily activities. In the case of a
child, the "occupation" of a child is PLAY, therefore, at The
Achieve Center we use play to facilitate progress.
Our occupational therapists
focus treatment around purposeful activities that help children
develop specific life-skills while making the most or their
abilities. Individual therapy sessions address fine motor,
and daily living skills which may consist of:
-
Drawing
-
Cutting
-
Writing
-
Grasping
|
-
Eating
-
Feeding
-
Dressing
-
Age appropriate play
